Details: Actually it´s a 1998 model year but if you know Audi that´s the last year of the C4 chassis that was carried over for wagons only, so the car is closer to 1997 or earlier A4 and A6 types.Was running great, has about 125,000 miles, clean inside and out. It was our daily driver until the engine had problem.It´s a beautiful luxury car but before I open it up I want to offer it for sale ... so my loss is your gain.-> NOTE: this car is NOT RUNNING and is being SOLD AS-IS. must be TOWED. <-Description of car:Top of the line for it´s day, power everything, sunroof works, heated seats, AWD All-Wheel Drive, Automatic transmission, V6 engine 2.8L single-overhead cam 12-valve has plenty of power and torque (when running), Dark blue body, light tan interior, galvanized metal shell means its very resistant to rust and will stay solid for many years.Recent work:New timing belt and serpentine accessory belt service at 124k (just a few months ago!), including new idler & tensioner rollers, New water pump and thermostat, had all new G12 pink coolant (must be correct for these engines),New temperature sensor New oil change and filter with full synthetic Pentosin 5w-40,New wiper blades, New exhaust flange bolts & springs joining cat pipe to rear,New rear brakes both sides left and right, totally new calipers with hydraulic slave cylinders, brake pads still good, New parking brake cable,New transmission filter kit (parts only) included.Wheels shown are not included (were winter tires) but comes with stock 15´ Audi wheels with decent tires.Problem with engine has water in the oil pan, which means it probably blew a head gasket. Fortunately the car knows when it has a problem and shuts itself down.It still turns over and cranks but has not run until we diagnose further. The oil cooler (mounted on oil filter) still holds water and does not leak so rules that out.Coolant reservoir will not stay full, drains down slowly but there are no visible leaks outside. Only after draining the oil was the missing fluid found in the pan.Before the car shut off the temperature was fine, no warning light, and oil temp was fine too. If it were warmer weather the problem may have been detected sooner but fortunately the car did not overheat.This could be a quick fix with a routine gasket change for a skilled mechanic with a shop. Even as-is the car has value for all the good parts.KBB blue book value for a good A6 is about $5,000 so with a few cheap parts and a bunch of labor, this could be worth fixing.Feel free to contact with any questions. All work was done by ICS Performance in Stamford CT. - Mill Tek Stainless Steel Exhaust - Custom High Flow Cat - Carbonio Carbon Cold Air Intake- Tokio Adjustable Shocks ( lowered 1.75 inch ) adjustable to 3 inch - Slotted Rotors with upgraded high performance pads- RS4 17 inch wheels with high performance BF Goodrich tires- APR Tuned, motor is chipped to increase horsepower and increase gas milage- Transmission control unit was sent out and chipped as well. The chip increases the shift boost by 35 % , this car shifts like a M5, if you have driven one you will know what I mean- Entire sound system was replaced, new Alpine iPod head unit, 6 new Morel speakers , new power and speaker wire throughout. Additional Work Done...- Timing Belt and Water pump done @ 88 K - 4 new wheel bearings- All coils replaced- oil changes religiously every 3K- Brand new cluster installed, these cars are notorious for having cluster issues, I purchased a new improved cluster from Audi in Germany. It cost $ 1000 before installation. This car will no longer have that issue you will face with other A4s- 2 sets of Wheels and Tires. - 1st set of wheels are stock 16 inch rims with Continental Conti Pros on them they are almost brand new , I use these in the winter the 5 or 6 times I drive the car in cold weather - 2nd set 17 inch 2007 Audi RS4 wheels with high performance BF goodrich tires. - Both Bumpers have been stripped and completely repainted with factory paint, there is not a single scratch on either bumper , I also had the license plate screw holes filled and removed to create a much cleaner line for the front bumper. I purchased the car in 2007 with 64 K and it currently has 104 K. That is an average of under 10 K a year for the life of the car. I paid $ 7200 for the car and have done over $ 8000 of work to the car. I had no intentions of ever selling the car, but for financial reasons I have to.I will not show or sell this car to anyone under the age of 19 without a parent present. I will not even entertain offers below asking price as I cannot sell the car for any less than what I am asking.The Interior and Exterior are in real nice shape. The interior door handles have usual signs of wear and are replaceable from Audi for $ 40 a door.
