We have also had the timing belt, water pump, and some work done on the front end. We just put new tires on it as well, about 1,000 miles ago (nice tires, Michelin´s from Costco). I have done all of the oil changes personally. I am concerned that the transmission may be trying to go out again on this car. The Blue Book is right around $5,500 on this car, but with my concern on the transmission, I am selling it for cheaper. I am still driving it to work daily and around town, but again, I want to be honest with anyone looking at this car in regards to my concern. Everything else works fine on the car. Details: This is a 2000 A4 Avant, 2.8L, with 186k miles. It is clean and well-maintained with some minor blemishes. It is a delight to drive and and extremely good vehicle in snow and slick conditions. It was recently smogged for CA and passed with no issues of any kind. However, it will probably not pass another CA smog due to the vagaries of CA DMV requirements and the Audi engine computer mapping parameters...the check engine light will remain on. Therefore it needs a Nevada home outside of Washoe county. The current value is ≈$4500; but due to the above issue, a reasonable offer buys a very nice car.
